Travel Smart - Walking to school

At Creswell C of E Infant and Nursery School we actively support Derbyshire County Council's Travel Smart initiative. In October and May each year we encourage all pupils and parents to walk to school. Follow the link to Derbyshire Travel Smart page and see the different ways of getting to school.
Please remember you can park at the local shops and walk up the hill.

Travel Smart Week

Walk to School Week takes place every year and is a great success. Help us by walking your child to School every day.

How a walk to school will boost their brains.
A burst of energy for the body is a burst of energy for the brain.

A walk outdoors sends oxygen to the brain. Pupils who've walked to school arrive feeling brighter, more alert and awake – and ready to learn. Research from the Department of Transport showed that children who walked to school settled down to morning lessons quicker than those who were driven in.

Make a monster move and travel smart.

We have successfully acheived the Modeshift Stars Silver Travel Award. Thank you to every one who helped. We will now be aiming to acheive the Gold Award. Please remember you can help by walking your child to school every day or encouraging them to scoot or bike.
