OUR SCHOOL AIMS
The school aims are:

*to ensure each child learns about the life of Jesus and understands Christian values;


*to provide happy, safe, secure and stimulating surroundings with equality of opportunity and access for all;


*to help children to develop lively, enquiring minds, and the ability to question, to argue rationally and to apply themselves to tasks;


*to promote physical development through high quality PE and an extensive range of after school activities;


*to promote good hygiene and health and to develop each child’s respect for its own body;


*to provide children with access to information communication technology facilities;


*to ensure that each child acquires knowledge, skills and understanding in all subjects of the National Curriculum and R.E.


*to ensure that each child has the opportunity to develop their creative potential;


*to offer each child Religious Education in accordance with the requirements of the Derbyshire Agreed Syllabus in order that every child acquires a reasoned set of attitudes, values and beliefs including a respect for and understanding of other people’s religious and moral values and ways of life;


*to encourage independence, respect and to develop co-operative and interpersonal skills by learning to share and work safely together;


*to develop in the children a caring and responsible attitude to the environment, both locally and globally;


*to forge links with the wider community, both past and present, by involving members of the community, their experiences and their artefacts, in history and geography lessons;


*to make the transition between home and school as smooth as possible and to promote the partnership of parents and school in order to support the child together;


*to satisfy the child’s individual needs in a loving and supportive atmosphere providing praise and recognition which celebrates success.
